Description: Due to the difficulty in keeping Epiplatys etzeli in captivity, there is no recorded information regarding this species other than the fact it will grow to 5cm.
These are not seasonal killifish.
Diet: As there is no recorded information, breeders could assume a diet typical of other Epiplatys species: a combination of live foods (insects, bloodworms, shrimp, crustaceans) and high-quality flake food and pellets.
Breeding: Due to the difficulty of keeping this species in captivity, breeding information is unrecorded.
Comments: This species is difficult to keep in an aquarium.

Recommended Compatible Species: They will live happily with Tetra species (particularly the Neon Tetra and Black Tetra). They are also great tank mates with Discus, Apistogramma‘s like Apistogramma Cacatouides and Apistogramma Borelli, Corydoras Catfish (particularly Corydoras Sterbai and Corydoras aeneus) Angelfish, Clown loach, the common Guppy and Platyand most Gourami (such as the Blue Gourami and Dwarf Gourami like the Honey Gourami) Also can live happily with most Danio (particularly the Zebra Danio and Pearl Danio) and also many other Killifish make great tank mates.
